     KERALA TAX PRACTITIONERS’ ASSOCIATION is a body of registered Tax Practitioners in the state of Kerala. It formed in the year 2011. The Association is registered under the Trade Union Act, 1926. The Registration Number allotted is 07-02 of 2011. Registered Office of the association is situated at CC67/8908(A), Choolackal Buildings, Teresa Lane, Convent Jn., Market Road, KOCHI 682011. This Association have more than 1500 members all over the state. All the members are Registered Sales Tax/Income Tax Practitioners of the respective statutes.

OBJECTS OF THE ASSOCIATION are:

(a) To advance the social, moral and material welfare of the members.
(b) To promote espirit do corps among the members.
(c) To promote sympathy and friendly intercourse among the members.
(d) To protect and promote the interest of all the members.
(e) To afford opportunity to the members to meet together and exchange their ideas and opinions and discuss and deal with the matters of common interests and especially that of taxation matters.
(f) To bring to the notice of the Government and other authorities concerned any difficulty that the Association or any member of the Association may experience.

(g) To plan and implement such scheme that may be beneficial and conducive to the welfare of the members.

(h) To consider and adopt proper measures to improve the professional status of the members.
(i) To educate the public in general and business community in particular, the impact of the taxation laws.
(j) To impart knowledge of taxation laws to all those who are interested.
(k) To study taxation laws and make proper and timely suggestions to the Governments so that the implementation of laws may be made easy.
(l) To strive for the social and economic development of the country and the people thereof.
(m) To do all such other lawful things as are incidental and conducive to the attainment of the above object.

(n) To achieve any like-wise object or objects other than these enumerated above added at a meeting of the State General Body of the Association…….              *  *  * 

Kerala Tax Practitioners' Association ...Functions

To achieve the objects of the Association as enumerated above, we undertake the following functions and activities:-

1. The Association is publishing a tax journal every month under the name and style of “THE TAX ADVISOR” from Thiruvananthapuram. Articles on taxation, court decisions, circulars, question & answers on tax issues, information about tax administrations etc comprise its subject matter. The magazine has a wide appreciation and popularity among both our members and the business community.

2. We are conducting periodic Taxation Seminars relating Income Tax, VAT, Service Tax & Works Contract etc.. Eminent faculties on the subjects lead classes and interactive sessions.

3. We have projects like KTPA Members Welfare Fund to provide financial support to our members when needed.

4. We provide Personality Development and Soft Skill  classes to our members to boost their humane qualities and professional ethics and quality.

5. The Commercial Taxes Department has appointed our representatives in the District Level  VAT Advisory Committees and our suggestion and recommendations aimed at alleviation the problems of the trading community in taxation matters are duly considered by the authorities.

6. We provide timely representations and suggestions  to the Government to remove the anomalies and difficulties in the administration of the tax laws.

7. We undertake an Accounting and Taxation Course under our banner “KTPA ACADEMIC COUNCIL” to impart fruitful training to commerce graduates to equip them to become competent Tax Practitioners.

KTPA FORMATION MEETING

The formation meeting of KERALA TAX PRACTITIONERS’ ASSOCIATION under the Trade Union Act, 1926  was held on 04th September, 2010 at Hotel MOTI MAHAL, Thrissur. The meeting witnessed a large gathering of tax practitioners from various parts of Kerala. Tpr. S.Venugopal inaugurated the meeting and Tpr. S. Vijayan Achary chaired it .
